Harold L. Tennant, 79, of Daybrook, died Wednesday (June 19, 2002) at his home.
He was born Nov. 23, 1922, at Blacksville, the son of the late Charles R. and Alcinda Tennant.
He was retired from Consolidation Coal Co., Loveridge Mine.
He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Shaffer of Daybrook; a brother, Robert Tennant of Daybrook; two sisters, Joan Tennant of Sand Springs, Okla., and Jackie Staten of New Athens, Ohio; two granddaughters, Tammy Haymond of Fairmont and Peggy Cale of Masontown; one great-granddaughter, Skylar Cale.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie R. McCoy Tennant on Jan. 9, 1996, and five sisters, Georgie Dean, Connie Pollard, Nellie Presock, Edis Ammons and Martha Yost.
Friends may call at Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Samuel Hibbs officiating. Burial will follow in Daybrook Cemetery.
