LOCAL RAILROAD EMPLOYEE DIES
Mandan Daily Pioneer, June 11, 1920
Wilbur C. Thomas, aged 26, fireman for the Northern Pacific and a resident of Mandan for the past three years, succumbed last evening [June 10, 1920] at the N.P. Hospital in Glendive, [Montana] following a serious operation for gallstones.
He had been taken to the hospital ten days ago for treatment and it was found necessary to operate four days ago.
Besides his wife, he leaves three small children. The remains will be brought back to Mandan tomorrow noon for burial. The time and place of the funeral will be announced later.
DEATH CALLED YOUNG MAN

Wilbur C. Thomas, aged 26, fireman for the Northern Pacific and a resident in the city for the past three years, died last Thursday night at the N.P. Hospital in Glendive, following an operation for gallstones.
He leaves a wife and three small children. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Kennelly chapel and Rev. W.R. Peterson of the Methodist church officiated. Interment took place in the Union Cemetery.
Montana Death Certificate:
Cause of death: Pneumonia (consolidation left lung), Renal Colic (abdominal pain caused by kidney stones). Contracted in Mandan, North Dakota. At time of death, Wilbur had been in Montana for 14 days. He had been suffering from renal colic for 20 days and from pneumonia for 10 days.
Occupation: Fireman for the Northern Pacific Railroad.
