Olive Ruth Strait, 91, Hustontown, died at 11:58 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2006, at home. She has gone to be with the Lord after an extended illness.
She was born in Clear Ridge, July 18, 1915, the daughter of the late David I. and Clara Belle (Grissinger) Winegardner. On October 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to Arthur P. Strait. He preceded her in death May 14, 1986.
She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and crochet, especially for others.
She was a member of Fort Littleton Bible Church.
She is survived by two daughters; Geraldine, Everett; and Clara Mae, Hustontown, a son. Arthur R. Hustontown; five Grandchildren: Richard Strait, Fort Littleton; Christina (Strait) Zeger, Hustontown; Amy Strait, Fort Littleton; Rebecca Strait, Greencastle and Brad Strait, Fort Littleton; Rebecca Strait, Greencastle and Brad Strait, Fort Littleton; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Adaline (Winegardner) Brown; an infant brother David Allen Winegardner; and a son, Walter Marshall Strait.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday. December 15 at M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor Deborah Strait will officiate. Burial will be made in Hustontown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
