ADA P. CUMBERLEDGE

Mrs. Ada Phillips Cumberledge, 76, Brave, was found dead in the kitchen of her home by a friend at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 1974. Death was attributed to an apparent heart attack.

Mrs. Cumberledge was the widow of Fred Cumberledge, who died August 31, 1951.

A daughter of William D. and Cynthia Shane Phillips, she was born May 4, 1897, in Monongalia County, W. Va., near Brave, and had resided all her life in the Brave area.

She was a member of Kent's Chapel United Methodist Church at Brave and of the United Methodist Women of the church. She was also a member of Sunset Rebekah Lodge 418 and of Wayne Council 124, Daughters of America.

Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Vernon (Gale) Johnson, Lakewood, Calif.; Mrs. Lonnie (Ruth) Haught, Greensburg; and Mrs. Jerry (Phyllis) Wright, Barberton, Ohio; two sons: Wayne and Burdette Cumberledge, both of Lakewood, Calif.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Ed Phillips, Brave.
