US Congressman. Elected to represent Michigan's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1863 to 1869. Also served as a Member of the Michigan State Senate from 1855 to 1856, and 1881 to 1882, for the 10th and 17th Districts, Michigan State Attorney General from 1861 to 1862, Circuit Judge from 1869 to 1872, and Member of the Michigan State Constitutional Commission for the 3rd District in 1873.
