KINGFIELD - Beulah E. Moore, age 96, died Aug. 2, 2011 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was born April 20, 1915 in Kingfield, the daughter of Chester and Edna Riggs Atwood.

She was educated in the schools of Kingfield and was a graduate of Stanley High School in the class of 1933. She married Leon Moore on March 22, 1937.

She was employed for 50 years in local mills and shoe shops and later for Deer Farm Camps, Dr. Thompson and Dr. Dunlap. She obtained her EMT license and worked for Partridge Ambulance Service. She was a member and past Chief of Pythian Sisters, Fernwood Grange, Somerset Chapter #80 of the Eastern Star, Ruth Heald Cragin Chapter of the DAR, Carrabassett Rebekah Lodge #123, Pomona Grange, Coffin-Hewey-Safford American Legion Auxiliary #173, and Kingfield Historical Society.

Beulah was very civic minded. She helped the town of Kingfield by surveying lots and erecting plaques to identify the town cemetery names. She helped the libraries and the town with several genealogy projects and the schools with fundraising. She was a 4-H leader for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Cole and husband Daniel of North New Portland; one grandson, Kim Moore and wife Anne of Freedom, N.H.; three granddaughters, Danette Cole of New Market, N.H., Cheryl Timberlake of Mt. Vernon, Deborah Wright of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three great-grandsons, Randell Moore of N.H., Wayne Fetterhoff of N.H., Cody Fetterhoff of New Hampshire; three great-granddaughters, Samantha Wright of St. Petersburg, Fla., Erin Wright of St. Petersburg, Fla., Melanie Moore of New Hampshire.
