He died 11 Nov 1832 in Amherst, Erie, NY where he was buried, according to affidavits from his widow, Eunice Robinson Simons, in applying for a widow's pension for his service as a soldier in the war of 1812. She also testified that Thomas Vantine was a witness to his burial.
Our best guess is that he was buried in Harris Hill Cemetery, where John Simons's friend and neighbor, Luther McNeal, and Luther's first wife, Rebecca, and two of his children are buried. A sad coincidence is that sons of both John Simons and Luther McNeal died in Chattanooga, TN during the Civil War.
