Evelyn was the daughter of Alonzo Franklin Bishop and Jeanette Amelia McInnes. She married Clarence Alvin Burson, 17 November 1939, Boulder, Colorado. Their children were Raymond Eugene Burson, Winona Belle Burson Muldoon, John Alvin Burson, Leroy Franklin "Lee" Burson, and Nancy Jeanette Burson McReavy.
