Linda Lorrayne Philpott Gillis, 54, former Burlington resident, died Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Arbor Court Nursing Home, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She was born April 18, 1957 the daughter of Norma Jean Philpott.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, decorating her home, cooking, gardening and time spent with her family and pets. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her husband Charles W. Gillis Sr. of Burlington. Three daughters, Tasha Stephenson , Saundra (Kenny) Cheney and Nicole (Arthur) Fisher all of Burlington. One son Charles W. Gillis Jr. also of Burlington. 10 grandchildren, 3great-grandchildren. Her grandmother, Virginia Fenton of Burlington. Foster brother, Brandon Roberts of Missouri, three foster sisters, Debby Fenton of Burlington, Debbie Schmidt of Indiana and Brenda Turley living in Minnesota. Uncles, Rick (Sue) Philpott and Randy Philpott both of Burlington. Aunt, Kathie (Norman) Newland of Harrison, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, and foster parents Leo and Billie Turley.
