Word comes of he passing of another of Adams County's old pioneers in the death of Maria Barker Guisinger Collins, who passed away at her home in Maryville, Missouri. Maia Barker was born in Perry County, Ohio, March 23, 1843. She married Shepherd Silvester Guisinger March 31, 1860 and in 1862 they came to Adams County locating west of Corning and later went to Missouri. He husband died in 1886. April 14, 1909 she was married to W. H. Collins in Maryville, Missouri, which had been her home since 1880. She is survived by her husband W. H. Collins and five children: William R. Guisinger, Sedwick, Colorado, Lee O. Guisinger, Whiten, South Dakota, Mrs. Myrtle Hubbard, Barnord, Missouri. She is also survived by two brothers, Melchi Barker of Corning, Iowa and George Barker of Dodge, North Dakota.
