Orchestra Conductor. He is best known for the unique public performances he created for children such as "Happy Concerts for Young People" and "Lolli-Pops", both of which turned into a popular long-running series. He was also featured in the PBS television special "Great Performances" in which he conducted the Asian premieres of Menotti's "The Medium" and "Amelia Goes to the Ball" along with Poulenc's "La Voix Humaine". Another credit to his name is the recreation he did of Richard Rodgers' ballet "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue," which he performed with New York City Ballet's prima ballerina Allegra Kent. He was the music director and conductor of The Little Orchestra Society of New York. He took the position in 1972 and served in this same capacity with the orchestra for 32 years.
