MADISON - Raphael D. Grant, 95, died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at Cedar Ridge Center for Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Skowhegan. She was born on Jan. 18, 1912, in Messina, Sicily, Italy, the daughter of Carlo and Josephine (Cirrillo) DeSanctis.
Raphael attended Madison High School.
For 37 years, her parents operated Sandy's Lunchroom in Madison, where her father created the "dynamite" sandwich.
On Sept. 30, 1933, she married her first husband, Emile DeRosby, who died in 1956. She married Roger Grant on May 1, 1971. He died in 1988.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Emile DeRosby; her second husband, Roger Grant; sister, Minnie Precopio; brothers, Antonio DeSanctis and John Cerilli.
She is survived by her son, Carlo DeRosby and his wife, Connie; grandson, Rock DeRosby and his wife, Stephanie, and their children, Elena and Antonio; granddaughters, Sharon Geankoplis and her husband, Nick, Diane Moudy and her daughter Haley; special nephews, Michael DeSanctis and his children, Briana and Antonio, Steven DeSanctis and his wife, Linda, Joey DeSanctis and his wife, Anne, and their children, Adam, Michael, and Rocky.
