Olin Howard King was born on March 10, 1918 in Carroll County, GA. He was one of 12 siblings born to William Thomas King and Annie Ardelia McGuire King.

On November 1, 1936, he married Doris Novalene Barrow in Haralson County, GA. They had two children: Marion William King and a still-living daughter.

On June 14, 1945, he enlisted in the military and served in the United States Air Force.

In about 1959, he was ordained as a Baptist Minister. He was the minister of Riverside Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, GA, and then went on to become the pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, GA. Bethany Baptist Church is the oldest church in Haralson County, GA with many extremely old, unmarked graves in the cemetery including slave graves. In the early years that my grandfather pastored this church, it went from a small church with only an outhouse as a bathroom to having multiple rooms and indoor bathrooms. Over the years, Olin, Doris, their children, and other family members also had a radio ministry where they sang gospel songs and witnessed for the Lord.

Olin also owned and operated King's Music Shoppe in Tallapoosa, GA. The store sold all kinds of music instruments, records, sheet music, etc. The store also sold religious merchandise such as Bibles and other educational materials for churches, Sunday Schools, etc.

In 1983, he suffered and recovered from a heart attack. In the next few years, he also began to suffer from Alzheimer's Disease. At that point, he decided to retire from the ministry and sold his store. In 1994, he suffered his second heart attack while leaving a Sunday Morning church service, and he passed away after several days in the hospital. After his funeral, he was buried in Waco Baptist Church Cemetery.
