US Congressman. He was a successful Boston architect, a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, and Boston city architect. In 1895, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fourth Congress, serving until 1897. After his term, he was again a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Leaving politics, he resumed his profession as an architect until retiring in 1938.
