Minnie and Goat Fortner were married 21 July 1951 in Clarksdale, Coahoma, Mississippi.

Obituary
Mrs. Minnie Fortner, 67, legal secretary for Lewis & Miller law firm, died Saturday in Memphis after a short illness. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at West Marks Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Marks Cemetery.

Kimbro Funeral Home was in charge. She was a member of Quitman County Hospital Auxiliary and secretary of Cassidy Foundation. For many years Mrs. Fortner served Bush Outlet, Marks and Deep Bayou Districts. She touched the lives of many local college age students, encouraging them and helping them obtain financial aid.

Mrs. Fortner, wife of James Loyd Fortner also leaves two daughters, Mrs. Carol Ann Waller of Darling and Mrs. Sharon Raines of Memphis; a son, Jimmy Fortner of Marks; her neice, Ms. Billie Hand of Marks; two sisters, Mrs. Earnestine Nickelson of Monroe, LA, and Mrs. Virginia Johnson of Marks; two brothers, Emil Blumhorst of DeWitt, AR, and Harry Blumhorst of California, and five grandchildren.
