Daughter of Albert Cowley and Selena (nee Carr) Cowley.

Speaking to her she was a walking history book. She remembered the Titanic sinking, as well as her grandfather, Thomas Evans Carr, showing up at her door wearing a soldier's uniform in 1917. She told me about being a dancer during the Depression and The Battle of Britain in the early days of World War II. She and her husband opened their home to children of southern England so they might avoid being victims to the Luftwaffe bombings.

As a young woman she was a member of the dance troupe the Tiller Girls in England.

Her last trip to America was in 1931. Occupation Professional Dancer, age 22, visa # 601 issued in Manchester, England.

She married Joseph Carmen Porrelli in the spring of 1934. Joseph was the son of Italian immigrants. Though they had no children of their own they were foster parents to many over the years.

On the occasion of her 98th birthday she received a birthday card from then British Prime minister Tony Blair.

She passed onto her heavenly reward at home. At her funeral when she was carried out to the hearse the recessional music was Frank Sinatra's "I Did it My Way"
