Wanda Faye Apple, of Dardanelle lived 83 wonderful years and died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle surrounded by family.
Wanda was born on Oct. 7, 1927, in Carden Bottoms to the late William Oscar Madison and Addie Mae Outlaw and was a graduate of Cardon Bottom High School. Wanda was the last surviving member of the Madison family.
Wanda was an employee at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center for more than 30 years,and got to enjoy retirement life for 21 years.
Wanda loved Bluegrass music and was a member of the Bluegrass Association. She shared many wonderful times at Bluegrass Festivals with nieces Freda Kendrick and Wanda Sue David.
Wanda was preceded in death by 1st husband Harry May. Together they had 1 daughter Shirley Ann May. Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dale Apple; three sons, Ricky Dale Apple of Dardanelle, William Edward Apple and his wife, Marianne of Russellville, Randall Lee Apple and his wife Jean of Dover; three daughters, Mary Ellen Standridge and her husband Terry, Shirley Ann May Vivyan and her husband Dennis, and Brenda Troyke, all of Dardanelle; 16 grandchildren: 24 great-grandchildren; and four-great great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren include: Alisha Crowe; who was her personal care giver in her final months; Amanda Standridge, Ashley Francis, Michelle Harper, Tonya Apple, Shawna Apple, Kristen Roper, Derek Apple, George Apple, Cari Apple, Lauren Burris, and Lee Burris, Melissa Troyke, Steven Troyke,Sheila Latham, Kim Brock.
Great Grandchildren include: Cierra Apple, Patrick Apple, ShiDale Crowe, RyLee Crowe, Aleigh Francis, Landon Francis, and Kaidence Apple, Mathew McConkey, Jessica Lee, Savannah Lee, Maddison Lee, Whitley Troyke, Bryanna Troyke,
Douglas Harper, DeAnna Harper, Eddie Joe Harper, Aaron Brock, Shonda Latham, Steven Latham, Nikki Rogers, Amber Rogers.
Great Great Grandchildren include; Christopher Latham, Marcus Latham, Caylee Latham, James Latham and Paige McConkey.
Wanda was preceded in death by Shirley Vivyan's father, Harry May, two grandaughters, Christy Lynn(Troyke)Roland and Mary Elizabeth(Rogers)Lane and 1 great grandson, Gregory Latham.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Faith Church in Dardanelle.Funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Faith Church with Brother Ted Hern and C.L. Haston officiating. Burial followed at Brearley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Community Funeral Service, Clarksville.
