Ellwood Stephenson Dies in Indiana

G. Ellwood Stephenson, 63, of Argos, Ind., died yesterday in Warsaw, Ind. Mr. Stephenson had been hospitalized for the past 2 1/2 years after being injured in an automobile accident near his home in Indiana. He had operated the Wells College Dairy Farm in Aurora and had owned and operated a farm in Poplar Ridge, before moving to Indiana.

Born in the Town of Ledyard, Mr. Stephenson had resided in Indiana for the past 10 years. He was a member of Scipio Lodge 110 F&AM of Aurora, Poplar Ridge IOOF, a charter member of the Cayuga Lake Grange and the Poplar Ridge Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Clara Stephenson of Argos, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney Landon of King Ferry; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Miller of Argos, Ind.; a stepson, Lt Col. Clifford Dawson of Washington, D. C; two sisters, Miss Lida Stephenson of Binghamton and Mrs. Chester Haring of McLean, Va.; a brother, John Stephenson of Aurora; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a nephew.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Shakelton Funeral Home in Aurora. Rev. Orlo D. Stewart, pastor of Poplar Ridge Friends Church, will officiate. Burial will be in West Genoa Cemetery, King Ferry. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday."
