He was born March 23, 1914, to General Dixon and Anna Greene Watson. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Broyhill Furniture Company. He was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Subday school teacher.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Stella Triplett Watson, four daughters, three sons, three sisters, five brothers, 18 granchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Paran Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverends Roscoe Greene, Harvey Presnell and Gary Watson. Burial will follow in the Mount Paran Church Cemetery.
Hampton Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
