Carl H. Groth, 78, Area Farmer, Dies
Carl H. Groth, 78, longtime Rochester Township farmer, died Sunday night at Methodist Hospital where he had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke last Thursday.
Mr. Groth was born Oct. 10, 1890, in rural Fillmore County. On Aug. 8, 1917, he married the former Frances Teske, who died in 1960. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy and Mrs. Howard (Mildred) Kruger, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Martinson and Mrs. Thomas Donovan, all of Rochester, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services for Mr. Groth will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Earl Schwerman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the Macken Funeral Home between 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday noon and then at the church for an hour before services.
