Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer on 27 Mar 1856 p3: "PAINFUL OCCURRENCE----A correspondent of the Zion's Advocate writes: 'I learn that a child of Mr. Isaiah Ham, of Shapleigh, was scalded internally on the 28th ult., by inhaling steam from a boiling tea-kettle, which caused its death in about 23 hours. The child was about two and a half years old.'"
