Scranton Journal, Oct. 21,1920:
Chalkley E. Adamson was born at Bayard, Iowa, July 5, 1880, and departed this life October 14, 1920, at the age of 10 years, 3 months and 9 days. He was united in marriage to Elsie F. Wright April 14, 1909. To this union four children were born, two having preceded the father to the great beyond. "Chalk," as he was familiarly called united with the Church of Christ at Bayard in 1910 and remained faithful to the last, his only regret being that he could not attend church services because of his hearing. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and was always mindful of those around him. He leaves to mourn a great loss a widow, two children, Lorrence and Wendell, a mother, sister, four brothers and other relatives and friends.
