He was the son of Buchannan Breckenridge and Rutha Emmaline (Emma) Rice Woods.He married first- Mary Alice Huffman and had one son- Edward B. She died in second childbirth and two years later he married Madge Rice Woods. They lived in Lawrence County Ky. and later moved to the Greenup Co. Ky. area. In this marriage they had four children-George J. , Ruth, Theodosha, and Elva. George K. Woods was a herb doctor,, who delivered hundreds of babies and helped the surrounding communities for nearly 35 years.
