MONMOUTH - Daniel A. Painter passed away August 23, 2011 at the age of 89. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Daniel proudly served his country during WWII on a destroyer. Attended and graduated from University of Oklahoma with a Geological Engineering degree. Worked as a geologist in the oil industry, later administrator of convalescent centers and then property management in Oklahoma. In 1953 he married Marion Johnson, together they celebrated 58 years of marriage this August. He was a student of the Bible in his later years and enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Survivors include his wife Marion J. Painter of Monmouth, daughters; Michelle Mack of Monmouth, Barbara Winstead of Boerne, Texas and son Lars Painter of Littleton, Colorado, their spouses and 8 grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his grandson PFC Taylor Daniel Marks who passed away in Iraq proudly serving our country and granddaughter Jasmine Painter born in rest.

Memorial Service will be 10:00am Saturday August 27, 2011 at the Salem Alliance Church in Cedar Hall.

Private family interment with Military Honors will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

Contributions can be made to the Salem Alliance Church Mission Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Farnstrom Mortuary, Independence.
