Street was born in Aberdeen, Washington, on August 19, 1919, and was educated at Weatherwax High School, where he graduated from in 1938, and later attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Street is best known for his work on the landmarks, buildings, and houses in the state of Washington. He began his architectural career in 1951 when he joined with Ben K. Weatherwax and later founded Street, Lundgren & Foster Architects in Aberdeen , Washington, which later moved business to Montesano, Washington. Street's work includes Gray Harbor College's Bishop Center, the Aberdeen Timberland Library, Aberdeen City Hall, the Aberdeen Fire Station, the Hoquiam Fire Station in Hoquiam, Washington, and several of the cities lavish residences. Street was also well-known for his woodworking skills, winning several national awards for his cabinetry and international awards for his lathe-turned masterpieces.
