Her obituary appeared in The Register (Lawrenceburg, IN) edition dated November 19, 1885 and is quoted in its entirety: "Died, at the family home in Miller Township, on Monday evening, November 9th, 1885, Mrs. Clarissa Blasdel, wife of Ferris Blasdel, in the 63d year of her age. The deceased had suffered affliction for a number of years past, but the immediate cause of her death was that during the temporary absence of the family her clothing from some cause took fire, and before assistance came, the fire done its work. She lived and suffered a few days afterwards and then passed away. Mrs. Blasdel was a daughter of the late Thomas and Rhoda Annis. She was respected by her friends and neighbors as an upright and good lady. She leaves a husband and ten children. Funeral services on the 11th at Pella, conducted by Rev. C. W. Lee in the presence of a large congregation of friends, neighbors and acquaintances. The remains were placed in the vault at Greendale to await future interment." NOTE: There is no evidence that she was buried in Greendale Cemetery; it is presumed that her remains were buried in Cambridge since that is where her husband's remains were buried in 1898. She married Ferris Enoch Blasdel on 03 Dec 1839 in Dearborn County, IN. Clarissa's obit mentions that she was the mother of ten children; however, this contributor is aware of only one child, i.e., George R. Blasdel (02 Feb 1852 - 02 Mar 1883).
