US Congressman. He moved to New York City in 1847 and commenced into business as a dealer in metals in 1852. In 1869, he was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-first Congress, serving until 1871. Not a candidate for reelection, he resumed his former business pursuits in New York City, until he retired in 1904.
