Leandra Baniecki Johnston, 59, of Clarksville, died at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010, at home.
She was born Wednesday, November 15, 1950, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late John S. Baniecki and Anne Gilarski Baniecki.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Waynesburg where she had been a Sunday School Teacher for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful homemaker. She taught Kindergarden for 14 years both at the Trinity Baptist Church School and also the Bible Baptist Church School in Uniontown, Pa.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Johnston, whom she married on March 06, 1970. Also surviving are two daughters, Tracy L. and her husband Jeff Elliott, of Farmington, W.Va., and Kelly M. Wolfe, of Mather; 1 son and his wife, Aaron W. and Angie Johnston, of West Newton; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Smell, of Gambrills, Maryland; one brother, Dr. John F. Baniecki, of Morgantown, W.Va., and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370. There will be additional visitation on Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Landmark Baptist Church, 176 North Porter Street, Waynesburg, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the hour of the service, with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating.
