Reverdy was the 4th son of farmers Joel A. & Sarah (Clark) Butler. He married Bessie May Huston in Summers Co, WV on Sep. 11, 1901, and they had 4 children. He was a C&O railway conductor. After his wife's death, he retired to Houston, TX to be with his four children.
