Professional Football Player. For nine seasons (1994 to 1999, 2003 to 2005), he played at the tackle position in the National Football League with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens. Born Orlando Claude Brown, he attended Howard D. Woodson High School in Washington and Central State College (Ohio), before playing collegiate football at South Carolina State University. Signed as a non-drafted player by Cleveland, Brown gained national attention for a 1999 on-field incident, when he was struck in the eye by a penalty flag thrown by referee Jeff Triplette. Brown responded by shoving him which resulted in his suspension by the league. However, this would be overturned after the extent of his injury was revealed. He filed a lawsuit against the NFL, eventually reaching a settlement. After three years, Brown recovered enough to resume his career, as he played an additional three seasons; he appeared in 129 regular season games.
