BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Frances M. Gilbert, 80, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel with Rev. David Melville, pastor of Fellowship United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City, LA. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday.
Frances was born in Arcadia, LA. She graduated from Louisiana Tech and had her Masters Degree in Education. She taught school for 31 years, retiring from Elm Grove Middle School in Bossier Parish. Frances was a constant joy to her family and they were the focus of her every thought and deed. The love with which she surrounded them will sustain them until they hold her hand in theirs again.
Her memory will be cherished by her loved ones, husband of 60 years, Allen Ray Gilbert; son, James Robert Gilbert and wife Minette; daughter, Kathleen Gilbert Buchanan and husband Buck; grandchildren, Marianne Buchanan Hawkins and husband Michael, Margaret Buchanan Barker and husband Brett, Mary Margaret Gilbert Edmonson and husband Andy, Meredith Kathleen Gilbert and sister, Pauline Mostiller.
The family of Frances would like to give their heart felt thanks to Dr. Charles Hargon and the nurses from the WK Cancer Treatment Center, Willis-Knighton North and the ICU units at WK Pierremont.
