D. Richard Snow, 82, of Geneseo, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Long Term Care, Geneseo.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at First Congregational Church, Geneseo. The Rev. Bruce Bergthold will officiate. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation for Richard will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational Church or Geneseo Humane Society.
Richard was born on Nov. 12, 1928, in Geneseo, the son of Dale and Edna Burgston Snow. He was a 1947 graduate of Geneseo High School. Richard was united in marriage to Gloria I. Swanson, on Nov. 20, 1949, in Geneseo.
He was a longtime carpenter, working for John Dahlen, and later Stees Construction for many years from which he retired. Richard was a member of First Congregational Church, and had been on the Geneseo Fire Department for 29 years. He enjoyed gardening, wood working and carpentry work.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; three daughters, Sharon (Jeff) Schneider, Geneseo, Judy (David) Eisenreich, Plymouth, Minn., Linda Pilcher, Rock Island; three sons, Dennis (Claudia) Snow, Sawyer, Mich., Ron (Skipper) Snow, Cambridge, Robert Snow, Milan; four grandchildren, Stephanie LoGiudice, Jim Pilcher, Nichole Pilcher, Sam Snow; and a sister, Evelyn Hutchinson, Geneseo. He was preceded in death by his parents.
