Jack Albin

KOSCIUSKO — Edwin D. "Jack" Albin, Sr., 90, lifelong resident of Goodman, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Goodman United Methodist Church with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, Sept. 19, 5-8 p.m. at Culpepper Funeral Home in Kosciusko and also beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Goodman United Methodist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Wilhelmenia Moorehead Albin. He volunteered in the U.S. Navy and served as a medical corpsman during World War II.

Following his honorable discharge, he and Wilhelmenia opened Modern Cleaners in Goodman and retired after 32 years in business. Jack had a special gift of making friends with everybody he met. He loved the Lord and proudly shared his faith.

The Big Black River and swamp were his favorite places on earth. As an avid coon hunter and fisherman, Jack taught several generations to enjoy and respect God's creations. He outlived most of his peers and always gave credit to the watch and care of his Savior Jesus Christ. Jack was an exceptional example of the greatest generation.

He is survived by one son, Edwin D. Albin Jr. and wife, Mickey; granddaughter, Angel McDonald and husband, Ian; grandson, Edwin D. "Win" Albin III; great-grandchildren, Spence, Tyler, Robbie and Miriam.

Jack was a true patriot and Southern Christian gentleman who embraced life and was easy to love.
