Born in the island of Bermuda Aug. 1, 1775
Died in the county of Albemarle April 10, 1861
He represented the 15th Congressional district of Va. from the year 1819 until 1825, at which time he was appointed to the chair of Moral Philosophy in the University of Va., which place he resigned in 1845.
