The funeral for Marian Margaret Hedgpeth, a Troutdale resident who died of lupus Sunday in a Gresham hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel. She was 71.

Mrs. Hedgpeth was born April 23, 1921 in Collins, Missouri. Her maiden name was Elliott. She married Johnnie Hedgpeth in Missouri on December 24, 1941. Following World War II, they moved to Wapato, Washington and lived there until 1992. They moved to Troutdale in February 1992. Mrs. Hedgpeth was a homemaker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Melvin, of Greshem; a brother, Fred, of Osceola, Missouri; sisters, Lucy Boswell and Anna Culbertson, both of Coalinga, California; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the American Lupus Society, Mount Hood Chapter, P.O. Box 19594, Portland.
