Janet (Hauck) Garwood was the daughter of Lester E. and Cecelia (Waggal) Hauck. She was the wife of Rev. Douglas Hubert Garwood. They were married August 24, 1946. Rev. Garwood was a minister in the Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference of The Methodist Church/United Methodist Church. He died February 4, 2006.

GARWOOD.--Janet Garwood, wife of the Rev. Douglas H. Garwood, died suddenly, Monday, January 28, 1991, in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Mrs. Garwood was born September 13, 1927. She and Rev. Garwood were married August 24, 1946. A memorial service was held on January 31, 1991, in Fort Lauderdale Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Garwood was an active member of her church and enjoyed playing tennis. Her son Steven Garwood shared remembrances during her memorial service on January 31, and her grandson played a violin solo. The service combined music and scripture in a celebration of her life. She is survived by her husband; children, Steven (Becky Hanson) Garwood, Philip (Pam Mitchel) Garwood, and Susan (Hugh Conklin) Garwood Conklin; her mother, Cecelia Waggal Hauck; a brother, Lester Andrew Hauck and sister, Nancy Hauck Slone; and eight grandchildren.
