Spanish-Castilian Royalty. Fourth of the sons of the King of Castile Alfonso VI, following the marriage with Roger of Altavilla (1117) she became countess of Sicily, Duchess of Puglia and Calabria and subsequently, thanks to the rise to the throne of her husband (1130), consort Queen of those territories. However, the marriage was short-lived and her death severely affected Roger's psychological balance, who devoted himself entirely to dominating the adjacent and neighboring territories through constant wars until the end of his days.
