Mr. Shuttlesworth passed away Oct. 2, 2011, in Troup at the age of 82.
Mr. Shuttlesworth was born on Oct. 7, 1928, in the Salem Community near Troup. He was raised by his parents, the late George and Lillie Shuttlesworth.

Loyd married Laverne Duty of Troup on Oct. 30, 1948. They were married for 58 years until Laverne's passing in 2006.

Mr. Shuttlesworth served his country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his parents and wife, Loyd was also preceded in death by a son, Randy Shuttlesworth; two sons-in-law, Keith Cohagen and Dr. Kerry Rasberry; and three sisters, Ruth Moran, Doris Clemets and Tommie Shuttlesworth.
