Connie went to Marion County (Guin, Alabama) School. He was the starting Center on the football team, he also drove a school bus for the Marion County Schools in Guin during his high school years. He graduated from Marion County High School. He went to work for Alabama Power Company in Birmingham, Alabama. He was introduced to Nancy Jo Ayers on his 21st birthday, by his friend, Norma Jean Gann also from Guin. Connie and Nancy dated and were married on Sept. 17, 1950. He worked in the Construction Department at Alabama Power. During the years (1957-1959), he attended Howard College (Samford University) in Birmingham, Alabama and obtained a degree in Industrial Management. He then began working in the Tax and Insurance Department at Alabama Power and over the years was promoted to his final job as Manager of Employee Benefits for the company. He retired on Feb. 28, 1988 (early retirement) and he and Nancy loved to travel. They enjoyed many trips to Europe and South America. He was a long time member of South Avondale Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Trussville, Alabama, where he had many leadership roles. He was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed the hobby of woodworking, making several pieces of furniture that is still cherished by his family today.
He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in June on 1993.

MR. CONNIE LEE ROBERTS age 64, of Trussville died Wednesday, February 9, 1994. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Trussville, AL., former member of South Avondale Baptist Church; alumni of Sigma Nu Fraternity at Samford University; alumi Alpha Kappa Pi Fraternity; retired from the Alabama Power Company after 37 years of service where he was manager of employee benifits; Mason Lodge #757; Trussville Industrial Development Board; RIMS; Cumberland Lake Country Club.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at Jefferson Memorial Trussville Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
Survivors: wife, Nancy Roberts; daughter Mrs. Yvonne Roberts Malone of Trussville; son Mr. Daryl Louis Roberts of Birmingham; granchildren, Ryan Louis Roberts of Birmingham, Kathryn Ayers Malone, Anna Lynn Malone, both of Trussville, Kaylin Laree Roberts of Birmingham.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church Trussville. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Program at Baptist Medical Center Mt. Clair or First Baptist Church of Trussville, AL.
