DeAnne McCracken, 71, of Miami, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami with Brother Mark Rasor officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami. Born April 4, 1940, in McAlester, she was the daughter of David and Reba (Wallace) Buckner. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1958.
She married Alfred McCracken on Aug. 13, 1958, in McAlester, and he preceded her in death. She worked as a surveillance officer for the Stables Casino in Miami for several years. She moved to the Miami area in 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tracy Buckner and Tommy Buckner, and her great-granddaughter, Taylor Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be Klint Buckner, Jeffrey Buckner, Jason Buckner, David Buckner, Tommy Buckner, Bradley McCracken and Kelvin Key. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Miami.
