Civil War CSA Congressman. He served as a Member of the Mississippi State Legislature in 1859, and Representative from Mississippi in the Confederate Congress from 1862 to 1865. He was invited to a duel on October 15, 1861, by his opponent in the Confederate Congress, and in turn, Chambers shot and killed William Augustus Lake.
