Son of Peter Vincent and wife (Thompson) Mayhew, married Hannah Harriman, November 22, 1801, Bristol, Grafton County, New Hampshire.
----------------
William Mayhew was a native of New Hampshire, either Bristol or Plymouth. He was among the first, with others, as squatters, who came to Point Peninsula, NY, in 1882, where he remained about 20 years. Finally he moved to Terre Haute, Indiana, to the home of his son, Franklin, and is buried in Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute.

Reference: Office of the Town Clerk, Plymouth, NH, Bristol History, 1904.

There is a family tradition that this man went to school and was a classmate of Daniel Webster at Dartmouth College, Exeter, NH. (So far I have found no proof of this.) 1930
