Virgie Louise Hooker, a member of Forest Hill Church of God, died Monday at a local hospital. She was 79.

Mrs. Hooker was a lifelong Mobilian.

Survivors include a daughter, Rose Hooker; and a son, Tommy Hooker, both of Mobile; three sisters, Rotha Pendarvis of Mobile, Anna Freeman of St. Elmo and Evelyn Baisden of Hazelwood, Ky.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. today in Mobile Memorial Gardens, with Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street in charge of arrangements.
