A. James Cook died this morning at 5 o'clock in his home, Vandergrift R.D. 1.

He was age 74 years, ten months and 23 days, having been born on June 30, 1873, in Kittanning township.

He was a son of the late Harvey and Mary (Smeltzer) Cook.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Cook of Vandergrift R.D. 1, and the following children: Mrs. Ward Stitt of Vandergrift, Mrs. Charles Carney of Vandergrift R.D. 1, Mrs. Laurence Rupert and Raymond Cook, both of Vandergrift; and Merle Cook of Vandergrift R.D. 1 also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the late home, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Rev. Mae Glunt and Rev. Robert McRew, both of Vandergrift, will officiate in the service.

The Kings Brothers funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
