Korean War Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Company L, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 6-7, 1951 at Chorwon, Korea. He was presented the CMOH on June 27, 1952 at The White House (Rose Garden) by Pres. Harry S. Truman. He retired from the U. S. Army in 1976 as a Master Sergeant.
