Edward Legare Bailey, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully October 17, 2011.
Ed was born on August 9, 1923 on Edisto Island, SC.
He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a LCDR after twenty three years of service and served in World War II. Ed was Director of Campus Services at Miami-Dade Community College for sixteen years.
Mr. Bailey was a Past Master of Omega Masonic Lodge #380. He held a variety of positions with the Grand Lodge of Florida, the local lodge, and other affiliate Masonic organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, his son, Paul, and wife Deborah, step-son Richard Petrie, and wife Melinda, nine grand children, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Edward L. Bailey, Jr., preceded him in death.
A service will be held at 10 A.M. October 25, 2011 at the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Ft Walton Beach, FL, preceded by a viewing at 9 A.M. Internment will be at 1:15 P.M. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola with full military honors.
