Hall of Fame Professional Hockey Player. Born in Edmonton, Alberta. At 5'11' and 180lbs, he played the position of center for the New York Rangers from 1936 to 1942, and 1944 to 1949, He was a member of the NHL All-Star Second Team Center from 1938 to 1939, 1939 to 1940, and 1947 to 1948. He also was Head Coach of the New York Rangers from 1950 to 1952. Colville was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1967. He was the brother of hockey player 'Mac' Colville. On December 26, 1987, Colville died at the age of 73, and he was cremated. There is a memorial bench in his honor at the Gary Point Park in Steveston, British Columbia.
