Noah Wingo Harmon was the son of Patrick Harmon, a merchant, and Sarah Jane Hawks. On 3 July 1898 he married Teresa Prescova Ross in Mercer County, West Virginia. West Virginia Vital Records describe him as a widower and a retired coal miner at the time of his death.

With wife Teresa Prescova Ross, and six of thirteen children: from the left; Fred (1906), Bertha Marie (1904), Kelly Clyde (1907, Noah (1879), Teresa (1878), Baby is Mabel (1909) Gertrude Jane (1901) and Lilly Pearl (1905). first daughter, Beulah (1899) died at one year, five more children were born after this photo was taken.
