Carrie Lockaby married Joe Graves. She is buried next to Joe's grave site in Seaside Memorial Park.

Carrie is a descendant of prominent families in San Saba County, Texas. Men from these families fought with the Army of the Republic of Texas, under General Sam Houston, to gain independence from Mexico. One of these men, Spencer Morris, her great, great grandfather also fought in the Battle of New Orleans, under Andrew Jackson.

Joe and Carrie Graves had a second daughter named Lota Pete Graves Reeves. Lota Pete was born October 21, 1917 and died August 23,1985 in Kermit, Texas. Her ashes were scattered in a rose garden in Lubbock, Texas.
