He was born June 22, 1927, at Hustontown, a son of Mrs. Vera and Glenn Strait. He was married to Margarie Hayden.
Surviving is his wife, along with the following children: David, Martha, Lois and Paula, all at home. The parents survive along with the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mae Chilcote, Robert Strait, Carl Strait, Mrs. Louise Swope and Miss Jane and Perry Strait all of Hustontown.
He was a member of the Hustontown Methodist Church. During his life he attended Coyne Electric School in Chicago. He had been attending the Palmer Chiropractic School in Davenport, Iowa, and at the same time worked at the National Tea Company.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., at the Hustontown Methodist Church. The Rev. Jay Saxe, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery. Body will be viewed Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the House funeral home, Hustontown. It will be taken to the church at noon on Friday and will lie in state until the time for the services.
